How to Start Rucking

Carry Weight Properly

Use a pack designed to keep the plates in a safe position high on your back and close to your body. Make sure the weight it secured tightly and does not move around.

Start Walking

Keep an upright posture as you walk with relaxed shoulders. The weight of the pack will naturally roll your shoulders back into proper position. Keep your core engaged as you walk or hike.

Slowly Increase Weight and Distance

Start with 10 to 20 pounds a few times per week. As you develop more strength add weight and go for longer distances. Take the time to stretch and work mobility afterwards. Have fun and stay wild!

Fantastic Pack

Love this pack and have been using it consistently for multiple weeks. Build quality is great. I love the frame + padding : makes the pack very comfortable even for very heavy loads. The vest-style straps with double sternum straps do a very good job distributing the load.

The only negative for me was that even with the XL pack, the hip belt wasn't positioned / sized properly to allow me to use it very effectively. However, I was able to use the hip belt loops on the pack to attach a waist belt that was better for me, and it seems to be doing the job nicely.

So happy I found wild gym

I happened upon the subject of rucking online and started my research, which I knew nothing about. All the benefits noted made sense. I started experimenting by adding weights to my backpack. I pretty much quickly knew that carrying weights was full-body beneficial. I also knew I needed to get the correct equipment. wild gym stood out of all the sites selling this equipment. I am so happy with my purchase. Equipment is easy to fit/adjust, extremely well made and the weighted walking experience couldn’t be better. Hope this helps!
