Monday Momentum - Consistency Starts the Night Before

Hi League!

Consistency Starts the Night Before

For me, the first step is often the hardest.

Getting out of bed.
Getting out of a cold car.
Starting the warmup.

It’s breaking through the initial inertia that is the real challenge.

And once you do that, you’ve won.

This phenomenon has been called Resistance.

And Resistance is the enemy that we must battle every single day.

One tactic I use is to get my workout gear ready the night before.

For early morning Rucks I have the following prepared:
  • Ruck with weight plate packed by the door.
  • Shoes and socks next to the door.
  • Clothes on the counter.
  • Coffee ground and water in the kettle.
  • Dog leash inside Ruck.

I’ve already beaten Resistance the night before my Ruck workout.

It took about 3 minutes.

I also have less workout anxiety when I defeat Resistance this early.

I go to bed knowing the steps are already perfectly laid out and the process is now effortless.

What can you do to conquer and start a pattern of effortless-consistency?

Have a wild start to your week,
-Dan, wild gym founder
